A Visit To A Nursing Home in Seoul

‘On February 18th, I visited a nursing home in Seoul, where I organized an afternoon of thoughtful engagement. The residents began by writing letters to their younger selves, reflecting on cherished memories. I then read five renowned Korean poems, chosen for their resonance with the generation, and invited the residents to express their feelings through drawings inspired by the verses. Many drew flowers and nature, describing the poetry as peaceful and soothing.
I assisted those who needed help, incorporating their favourite colours into their artwork. I was deeply moved by the eloquence of their reflections, particularly a touching account from a resident who shared his childhood experience in an orphanage.
The afternoon was filled with meaningful conversations and moments of joy, leaving me inspired by the residents’ wisdom and creativity. Witnessing their engagement was a powerful reminder of the beauty of connection across generations.’
