Danika Koo
Born in Hong Kong and raised in South Korea, I am currently situated in the UK where I attend school at CLC. My fuel and dedication for art was kindled at an early age, where it has long served as an outlet for self expression, enabling me to engage with my community and peers. Although adhering to the set standards of art within my school's curriculum has inevitably limited my exploration of the subject, I am confident that this project will allow me to further pursue my passion, while simultaneously foster meaningful connections across all ages- particularly with the elderly in our local nursing homes. As a developing adolescent, I often find myself caught in the fast, overwhelming pace of life. Therefore, I hope not only to provide a platform for senior residents to articulate their experiences through art, but also to facilitate them in bridging a deeper connection with their past memories and their present reality. I am so excited to embark on this journey of sharing the profound impact I believe art can potentially have, and I aim to make each project a catalyst for building valuable ties within our community.
